About me

Before I became a game designer and 3D artist, I was a dual-licensed nurse. I worked in both Germany and Spain, built a stable career, and did everything I was supposed to do. But even at the height of that success, I knew I was in the wrong story. I didn’t grow up dreaming of hospitals. I grew up chasing the adventures waiting on the other side of the controller.

So I made the choice to leave that life behind and pursue the one I’d wanted all along: to build worlds, quests, and stories that had inspired me my entire life.

Since 2021, I’ve been learning and studying 2D art, 3D modeling, 3D animation, game design, scripting, and exploring different game engines such as Unity, Godot, and Unreal Engine 5. I’ve spent a lot of time studying how great games guide players through spaces and narratives that feel real while remaining carefully structured and grounded.

My medical and nursing background allows me to think holistically, analytically, and purposefully; to work in a team- and customer-focused manner; to keep a cool head under high physical and mental pressure; and to express myself clearly. Game design has shown me where those skills truly belong, and I’ve never worked harder or felt more at home.

Thank you for your time,
Ralf Schiegerl
